name a discount auto parts store online that ships anywhere in the 50(not 48) US states? I have tried ordering something online, and for a 5lbs package got hit with a $65+20(handling) shipping charge by UPS ground to Alaska. When I tried explaining to the rep its $40-$45 with UPS by 2nd day air and much lower by ground, rep simply hanged up on me.

AJ replied: "As far as I know advanceautoparts.com ships to Alaska cheap."

randecustoms replied: "I own a performance parts and accessories that sells and installs parts on everything from go karts to 4x4s and everything in between. We don't have a ton of inventory on our website but I guarantee you I can get you what you are looking for at a decent price and I won't charge inflated shipping prices. We also carry a very large selection of performance brands and also some used parts."

Casie V replied: "Try calling a car repair shop in Alaska. They can help you get on the right track. Try calling a few places and compare what they say."

For a car battery, where would you buy. Options are: Walmart or discount auto parts. want it now.? I mean, probably auto parts would be faster, smaller store . is walmart cheaper maybe?

Johneye replied: "Hands down, Walmart."

justin c replied: "walmart but don;t get the bargain cheapest one maybe midgrade"

hsueh010 replied: "I'd go to a parts store. Get one with a longer warranty period (especially one with at least a 3 year free replacement, not pro-rated) and higher rated Cold cranking amps."

dodge man replied: "i have had really good luck from the battery's i have bought at wal mart, never any problems at all,i have one now that's 6 years old and still doing really good, any of the major brand names will do good ,wal-mart will be cheaper on price than most of the others will, good luck on it."

sailormoon7594 replied: "Wal-Mart"

Christopher R replied: "You do not want a cheap one because it dies quicker. I have had to go to wal-mart and got the cheapest three times within 2 months. so if i were you i would go to wal-mart or the auto store and the the middle priced one. i am not saying go and get the most expensive one but do not get the cheapest."

MarkyP00 replied: "I usually buy car batteries in the service shop of a major retailer (WalMart, Sears, etc). They will honor your warranty no matter where you are if the battery fails. ONCE, I bought from a local parts store. Never again! The battery failed within two years. Of course, I had to take it back to the shop where I bought it. When I went to exchange it, the manager told me a new battery would cost more than the one I originally bought. The manufacturer of the batteries did not make that specific battery anymore, and the new one cost more. So I don't buy them in parts stores anymore."

Grant replied: "I bought most auto parts online. I always go to searchalldeal.com to find out if there is a discount for the parts I need. And a lot of times, the price are cheaper then Walmart. But if I need something right away, I go to Walmart."

anyone has an opinion about the silverstar light bulbs that autozone, or discount auto parts sells? these are the headlight bulbs. how good are they ?

butchdalton replied: "Don't waste your money.I just saw a thing on them on 60 minutes 2 weeks ago.If you are going for the look for style then fine but as far as increased visibility their tests showed no real increase in distance or intensity."

Any one know where I can buy discounted auto parts on line? I am trying to know where I can buy online autoparts at around the wholesale price. Anyone know a website that I can go to?

wangus replied: "try ebay, you may be surprised. also try typing into a search engine "car parts wholesale""

abkwire replied: "www.stopshopanddrive.com ebay of course"

Mike Guevara replied: "Go to DealTime.com. And select "Cars/Parts" from the list. And then select your make and model. The site gives you all the parts listed. Here's the cool thing though...when I needed 2 new fenders for my Volvo 740...I searched the key word, and it gives you the names of auto part websites, and their prices so you can select the cheapest one. Good luck!!!"

Tom B replied: "that little search box thingy at the top of your screen, you should try it!! I love it!!"

karate09 replied: "Rock Auto usually have really low prices for most auto parts. Try here first: Next, I would try Usually the stuff that is found on Parts America you can get at Advance Auto Parts. However, I would check at your local Advance Auto Parts before I buy anything from Parts America online because sometimes Advance Auto Parts can get the same thing over night for a cheaper price. But, sometimes Parts America has stuff that Advance Auto Parts doesn't."

Grant replied: "I think the best place to look for this type of coupons is SearchAllDeals. Just start with a search term like "discount auto parts ". Here is a direct link to the search result: +&sa=Search+60%2B+sites&cof=FORID%3A10 Hope you can find what you need."

Which auto parts store do you think pays more? Nappa Auto Zone Advanced Auto Parts Discount Auto Parts any others I am missing......

junkyarddogfan replied: "right now u should b more looking at benefits and areas as at some point u may wanna relocate and still have a job. napa is almost everywhere as well as autozones. health benefits are worth a lot compared 2 just regular pay. if pay is more of ur interest try calling each and asking them what they pay 2 start. they will tell u but in most cases i'm betting just over minimum. keep in mind if ur pregnant u may havta lift a certain weight while working there as they sell heavy parts as well as light ones, and u don't wanna endanger ur pregnancy, but most will 'notice' ur 'happy news' and help u out by carrying the heavier stuff 4 u. anything i can help u with with auto parts stores, don't hesitate 2 e-mail and ask. i worked at a napa store for about 3yrs and at a carquest store for about 2 1/2 first as a delivery driver/counterperson to full counterman. r u ok?"

where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 2001 isuzu rodeo? I have a 2001 isuzu rodeo, manual transmission, 4 cyl, 2.2, the check engine light comes on and off, i took it to a discount auto part, they did a test with a scanner, and it came out that the camshaft position sensor needed to be changed, I do have the piece, but i dont know where it goes, need help...

Cal replied: "I'm not familiar with that model. Some cam sensors are at the front of the engine. Some are under the valve cover. My suggestion would be, to call the store that sold you the sensor and ask them or call a dealership. Usually they are glad to help. Master tech 40 yrs."

lexusry replied: "taking your car to part store to scan your vehicle only show you what circuit is bad. it does not indicate the sensor is bad. you have to check to see if the wire is bad or broken for the circuit, bad solder inside the computer, or a bad computer. to test the sensor, you need a lab scope for accuracy. the the camshaft sensor is located behind the timing belt cover next to the camshaft."

rambo1214 replied: "the sensor is under the timing belt cover at the top of the engine. If you are looking at the engine you'll see a black strip covering your spark plugs, your electrical connection on the camshaft position sensor is under there go ahead and disconnect the sensor. Next is the removal of the timing belt cover. You will need to take the bolts holding the cover in place they will hold it all the way down to the bottom of the engine. The bolt in the center top section is actually the bolt holding the sensor in place inside the engine so you will need to look and see how to maneuver the sensor out after the bolt is removed. Replace with new sensor and replace bolts. Plug electrical connector into the top of the sensor and replace spark plug cover. You are now done. This sensor is important to your rodeo because if this sensor is not working then the vehicle will not start or run because it relies on the sensor to operate."

How to change blinker bulbs in '89 dodge spirit? I've got an 89 dodge spirit used just the other days and the blinker lights come on but don't blink. From what I've read they need new bulbs so I went ahead and got all 4 new bulbs. Discount Auto Parts said my model were 3057s. I just have no clue how to go about changing them. In the trunk the only thing I can see are two big wires going into the back lights but I can't seem to pull or pry them out and in the front all I can see and pull out are things that look just like plugs going into outlets. *edit: The lights don't come on on the outside, but on the inside where it shows the arrows they light up but don't flash. I can look inside the front left blinker and can see that there is no bulb inside period. However the right blinkers worked a few times but have stoped and show the same problem as the left ones.

wildmanny2 replied: "If the lights come on but don't flash, the flasher is bad."
